MEET THE ARTIST-
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and Multimedia from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. In 2012, I graduated with a M.A. degree in Visual Studies from Cardinal Stritch University.
Currently I am a graphic artist, focusing on brand identity and print design at Briggs & Stratton Corporation. I have a rotating, quarterly, photography installation that is showcased at various local gallery nights. In addition to photography, I also have a collection of hand-dyed scarves for sale in boutiques, along with handmade voodoo dolls.
My passion for creativity and the appreciation for the arts has always been of interest to me.
A CLOSER LOOK AT MICHELE’S PHOTOGRAPHY-
Viewing images through a lens can be quite interesting. My most recent adventures include visiting the desolate buildings in society. Most have chosen to ignore these urban industrial wastelands, except of course, myself and the city street dwellers.
Even though the places are considered abandoned, the structure still lives on to tell a story-- in other words, unknown questions to unknown answers. My work portrays a curious segment of the world around me and what the universe has to offer.
In my photography the structural elements were taken into careful consideration, revealing a composition of geometrical shapes, lighting and a vast color pallet. I focused on the objects within the environments (close-ups) or “a layered view” of the environmental space. By sharing these images, it promotes adventure, creativity and the exploration of new possibilities.
